While already leveraging the power of Shopify Plus, Muc-Off wanted to elevate its ecommerce presence. The brief to blubolt focused on creating a sleek, mobile-first site designed to improve user experience, drive conversion, and increase average order value. At the same time, the brand required greater internal control, enabling the team to manage the Shopify theme independently without relying on code changes.
Fresh, user-focused design.
The new Muc-Off website combines a clean, intuitive design with the brand’s distinctive black-and-pink identity. We also simplified the navigation, creating a clear and effortless path to purchase.
Showcasing how the products can be used and offering tips was another key requirement from the brand. Muc-Off has fantastic high-quality “How To” videos, so we incorporated these directly into the product detail pages to support informed buying decisions and enhance the customer journey.
Mobile-first performance & in-house control.
With the majority of visitors browsing on mobile, the redesign prioritised speed and responsiveness. The Muc-Off team now has full control over banners, videos, images, and copy through the CMS, allowing them to respond quickly to changing market needs.
Enhanced functionality with bespoke features.
Like their carefully crafted products, the brand’s new website needed to combine beautiful design with high function. The blubolt team combined Shopify apps with custom development to deliver advanced functionality. For example, a CloudSearch integration provides fast, highly relevant search and filtering, improving product discovery. Then we developed a bespoke store locator that reflects Muc-Off’s branding (a generic look would’ve clashed with the rest of the site) and enables customers to find local retailers seamlessly.
Journey-led growth through subscriptions & bundles.
Post-launch, blubolt implemented a custom bundle and subscription service using ReCharge, creating Ride Boxes. Customers can personalise a bundle based on their riding habits, which is delivered every three months. This journey-led solution removes the friction of repeat ordering, increases retention, and generates recurring revenue, aligning with Muc-Off’s long-term growth strategy.

The new Shopify Plus website delivers exactly what Muc-Off needed: a fast, mobile-first experience combined with unprecedented in-house control. Teams can now launch updates quickly, freeing time to focus on growth opportunities.
Early indicators of success include improved customer engagement through product videos, faster search and navigation, and the introduction of the Ride Boxes subscription model.
