The problem
Migrating to a platform built for growth.
Orthotix had built its ecommerce presence on WooCommerce, but as the business expanded across direct-to-consumer, trade, and prescription-led sales, it needed a more scalable, future-ready platform.
The Othotix team tasked blubolt with migrating their website to Shopify to improve site performance and conversion rates, reduce ongoing maintenance, and provide the internal team with a simpler, more efficient way to manage the site. In addition, the new platform needed to support both B2C and B2B journeys within a single ecosystem and enable integrations and functionality that would reduce operational friction and support long-term, journey-led growth.

The solution
Express Launch: rapid migration, immediate impact.
Using our Express Launch approach, we migrated Orthotix from WooCommerce to Shopify quickly and efficiently, delivering an immediate step-change in performance and usability.
Built on a feature-rich theme with the benefits of Shopify’s Online Store 2.0, the new site provides a faster storefront, a significantly improved admin experience and reduced platform complexity. Orthotix can now manage content, products, and merchandising with ease, without the maintenance burden that previously slowed the team down.
One platform, multiple journeys: B2C & B2B.
Orthotix needed to serve both consumers and trade customers without fragmenting the experience or overcomplicating operations. We delivered a single Shopify store utilising Shopify Markets to manage multiple audiences and currencies within a single streamlined platform.
To power B2B functionality, we implemented Sparklayer, enabling tailored trade pricing, account management, and seamless online reordering. Trade customers now benefit from a clear, self-serve experience, while the Orthotix team can manage customer groups, pricing and inventory visibility with minimal effort.
The result is a cohesive ecosystem where B2C and B2B journeys sit side by side, reducing operational friction and creating a scalable structure for future growth.
Connected systems, reduced friction.
Orthotix needed its ecommerce platform and back-office systems to work seamlessly together to support sustainable growth. To achieve this, we implemented Patchworks to integrate Shopify with Sage 200, enabling real-time order processing, inventory synchronisation and consistent product data across systems. This removed manual work, reduced errors and gave the Orthotix team greater confidence in operational accuracy.
Alongside this core integration, we introduced new tools to strengthen key stages of the customer journey: Boost Commerce for advanced search and merchandising, Reviews.io to build trust through product reviews and Klaviyo to drive targeted lifecycle marketing. Crucially, we also overhauled the site’s tracking to significantly improve data visibility. The Orthotix team can now see exactly what is happening on-site, giving them clear insight into their customers’ journeys. Together, these integrations and insights create a cohesive, joined-up experience for customers and internal teams alike.

The result
An ecommerce site built for growth.
In a short timeframe, blubolt delivered a complex migration project that significantly improved Orthotix’s digital foundations.
The new Shopify site is fast, stable and easy to manage, supporting both consumer and trade journeys from a single platform. Technical debt has been reduced, operational friction removed, and the team now has full control over products, content, and merchandising. The impact of these updates was immediate, improving product discovery by increasing page views by 25%, driving a 10% increase in users viewing products in more detail, and delivering a 10% uplift in conversion rate.
Most importantly, Orthotix is now set up with a customer-centred platform that aligns teams, simplifies processes and supports long-term, journey-led growth.
