Migrating from Magento to Shopify Plus with a focus on conversion.

Porcelain Superstore had outgrown its Magento (now Adobe Commerce) site. The team wanted a faster, more flexible platform that better reflected the brand’s style and delivered a smoother shopping experience.

- Boost conversions for free tile samples, a key part of their customer journey.

The challenge was not just technical; it was strategic. The new experience needed to attract, convert, and retain customers by reducing friction and building confidence throughout the buying journey.

We approached the migration through our journey-led growth framework, aligning technology, design, and customer insight to support long-term business growth. Through user research and behavioural data, we mapped the customer journey from browsing to checkout. This helped us identify and remove key friction points, streamline the path to purchase, and create a more cohesive experience across all touchpoints.

Sophisticated design that tells the brand story.

The new Shopify Plus site was designed to reflect Porcelain Superstore’s modern, stylish aesthetic while staying highly functional.

- A refined visual design showcases their lifestyle photography and wide-ranging product catalogue.

- Product detail pages were reimagined to handle rich data without overwhelming users. Sleek dropdown sections keep information accessible yet uncluttered.

- The result: a fast, visually engaging experience that puts the product front and centre.

The design’s quality didn’t go unnoticed. Porcelain Superstore’s new website received both Honourable Mention and Mobile Excellence awards from the Awwwards.

Elevating the sample journey.

Free samples are a cornerstone of Porcelain Superstore’s customer experience, helping shoppers feel confident before making a larger purchase.

We enhanced this journey by:

- Adding clear “Free Sample” call-to-action buttons on product detail and listing pages

- Introducing a dynamic sample tracker pop-up showing how many of the four free samples a customer has selected

- Simplifying cart presentation to distinguish between samples and full tile orders

These changes made sampling intuitive and rewarding, thereby boosting engagement and conversion rates.

Smart integrations that build confidence.

Choosing tiles for a home renovation can be a decade-long decision, so trust and reassurance are essential. To enrich the experience, we integrated trusted third-party tools like Yotpo for authentic reviews and user-generated content, CloudSearch for intuitive filtering, including colour swatches, Klaviyo for personalised email marketing, and Smart Wishlist for easy product saving and sharing. Together, these tools empower customers to explore, compare, and commit with confidence.

Seamless checkout and delivery.

Lastly, we streamlined the checkout process to ensure clarity and speed.

- The new cart layout clearly separates samples from full orders, encouraging customers to make the most of their sample allowance

- With ShipperHQ and a custom Brightpearl integration, customers now see the earliest available delivery date. This is automatically synced with the fulfilment system for a friction-free process.
